Miniaturized Antipodal Vivaldi Antenna with Improved Bandwidth Using Exponential Strip Arms

In this paper, a miniaturized ultra-wideband antipodal tapered slot antenna with exponential strip arms is presented. Two designed equations are optimized to reduce the lower edge cut-off frequency of impedance bandwidth from 1480 MHz 720 MHz, resulting in miniaturization by 51%. This approach also improves without compromising radiation characteristics. The dimension proposed structure including feeding line and transition 158 × 125 1 mm3. results show that peak gain more than dBi achieved all over (0.72–17 GHz), which an improvement what have been reported for Vivaldi antennas similar size.
